Position held: Road Safety Auditor
Activities performed:
Phase 1: Pre-construction Activities: Producing of a Road Safety Audit Report and obtain the MOTC/TPIU and EIB agreement for audit recommendations.
Phase 2: Activities during Construction: Review the detailed design documents to ensure that the road safety audit is incorporated, and the recommendations implemented. Supervise standard application and implementation of road signs. Define procedures for traffic monitoring.  Road safety awareness raising for road users traffic regulations and road safety.
Phase 3: Post-construction Activities: Conducting post-construction road safety audit.  Observation of the traffic and identify any outstanding road safety issues and recommendations for improvements and overseeing the implementation of those improvements.

Preparation of Road Safety Audit.
Identification of high risk urban road sections on adjacent to the Dushanbe to Kurgonteppa road which has a higher than expected collision rate and outline road safety measures including: creation of an urban ‘gateway’, traffic calming measures, provision of pedestrian crossings and footpaths, and traffic lights.
Writing short guidelines on urban road safety in Tajikistan.

Name of project: Road Safety Audit & Design Review of Ukraine Road Rehabilitation and Safety Project
Year: 03/2016 – to ongoing

Client: State Roads Agency (Ukravtodor),
Main project features: Ensure fulfilment of EIB’s requirements to road safety audits in line with the principles of Directive 2008/96/EC on road infrastructure safety management on road projects co-financed by EIB and EBRD on M01, N01, M05 and M06 in Ukraine under the European Roads Ukraine II project.
Review tender documents on projects co-financed be EIB on M01, M05 and M06 in Ukraine to ensure they provide adequate project documentation.
The scope of the technical assistance involved:
Safety audits on the project design at its different development stages in Ukraine.
Subsequent assistance to bring the design up to the required safety standards.
Potential assistance to integrate changes in the tender documents.

Main project features:  Feasibility studies and preparation of preliminary designs for the civil works to rehabilitate and/or upgrade above mentioned road sections in Sugd Oblast.

Year: 05/2014 – 07/2016
Location: Baku / countrywide, Azerbaijan

Main project features: Preparation of a feasibility study, a detailed design and tender documents for the rehabilitation of the sections of the 62 km long R42 Bahramtapa to Bilasuvar road; 27 km long R10 Mususlu – Qaramaryam road; 22 km long section of the R9 road from Qaramaryam – Ismayilli; 35.5 km long section of the R19 road from Ganja – Togana.

Client: Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia
Main project features: The main objective for this assignment is to prepare detailed designs, Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and bidding documents for rehabilitation of approximately 62 km of secondary.
Position held: Highway Design Engineer and Road Safety Auditor
Activities performed:
Ensure that a safety conscious design is produced in order to minimize the risk that costly.
Outline the potential safety problems which were considered.
Carefully consider road safety parameters of design (including sidewalks in urban areas, guardrails, signing, marking, geometric changes, etc.).
Review the existing road alignment and list areas where improvements would improve road safety.

Name of project: Construction Supervision and Project Management CAREC Corridor 6 (Ayni – Uzbekistan Border Road) Improvement Project, Total length of approximately 113 km
Year: 03/2013 – to date
Location: Tajikistan (Ayni-Panjakent), Tajikistan
Client: Projects Implementation Unit for Roads Rehabilitation (PIU) of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan (MoT)
Main project features:   The project will improve a 47-km category IV mountainous road section and a 66-km category III plain section. Road improvement work will use the existing alignment, covering detailed design, earthworks, pavement structures, culverts and drainage, bridges, slope protection works, and road appurtenances, among others. A total of 31 bridges will be rehabilitated and/or reconstructed.

Activities performed:
Review the detailed design documents to ensure that the road safety audit is incorporated.
Provide input for the detailed design assessment reports.
Monitor the implementation plan to ensure that the road safety concerns have been incorporated.

Main project features: Supervision of civil work contract for: Nookat Pass section of Osh-Isfana road; Roads in and around Osh city (about 15 km); and Roads in and around Jalal-Abad (about 3 km).
